Stages of production of cork rolls Raw material acquisition
Cork comes mainly from Mediterranean countries (Portugal, Spain).
The bark of the cork oak is harvested every 9-12 years without damaging the tree.
Drying and processing of cork
The bark is dried for several months to reduce moisture and improve the quality of the raw material.
After drying, it is boiled to remove impurities and improve elasticity.
Grinding and agglomeration
The cork is ground into fine granules.
Then they are combined with ecological resin or subjected to a pressing process under high pressure and temperature, creating flexible cork boards.
